So many questions, so little time

1. favourite place in your country?

Without a doubt that would be the night markets/markets in general. I don't get to go often but I love them.
3. does your country have access to sea?

Yes, on two coasts.
4. favourite dish specific for your country?

Poutine. I can't eat it much, way too rich. I always enjoy it when I do.
5. favourite song in your native language?

I'm particularly partial to Marianas Trench. The only band from high school that I can still stand listening to as an adult.
6. most hated song in your native language?

Well, that would have to be ironic by Alanis Morissette. The song either displays a profound understanding of irony or a profound lack of understanding.
7. three words from your native language that you like the most?

Fascinating, Intriguing, and Nefarious.
8. do you get confused with other nationalities? if so, which ones and by whom?

British, and one time some creepy guy gave me the HH salute on a hot summer day because he saw my blond hair and assumed I would share his views, but that's not really a nationality. I was seriously skeeved out.
9. which of your neighbouring countries would you like to visit most/know best?

I have developed this fascination with the island of Malta (not my neighboring country, I know. I'm surrounded by the US, can you blame me?). I even thought about doing an exchange there for my final year of college.
10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?

I don't have one.
11. favourite native writer/poet?

Kelley Armstrong (didn't actually know she was Canadian!)
16. which stereotype about your country you hate the most and which one you somewhat agree with?

There are still people in the world who think that Canadians live in igloos and drive dog sleds everywhere. We have roads, and we have houses. But we actually do say eh a lot mostly to confuse and annoy. Also we are not infallible viewing us as the great white polite north is wrong.
17. are you interested in your country’s history?

Yes and no. Yes as in I want unbiased textbooks which give me multiple perspectives. no as in i've studied a lot of it already and am tired of it all.
18. do you speak with a dialect of your native language?

Insofar as we don't use the same colloquialisms everywhere, and because newfoundlanders (newFUNDlanders) have developed darn near their own dialect.
19. do you like your country’s flag and/or emblem? what about the national anthem?

I think having national anthems in any country borders on fascism. And the flag is just okay.
20. which sport is The Sport in your country?

Technically, Lacrosse is the official sport. but Canadians go nuts for hockey.

Mini Interview with the Blogger

What are you listening to right now?
Precisely right now I am listening to the audiobook of Bones are Forever by Kathy Reichs, provided by RBDigital and performed by Barbara Rosenblat.

I have also recently discovered the band Faun. They sing german music using medieval instruments coupled with modern style.
What was the last thing you ate?
I made a vegetarian Philly Cheese Steak.
Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
That would be my grandma. I was asking for her address for christmas cards. She lives locally so I don't know it off the top of my head.
Do you drink?
No. Alcohol fumes give me headaches and I don't enjoy the feeling of my senses being dulled.
Do you smoke?
Nope. And I really wish it would be made illegal. Want to chew? fine by me, it won't clog my air. But the minute you start making the choice for me about the air I get to breathe, I stop being Miss Nice Pacifist TM
Do you wear contacts/glasses?
Yes, I wear glasses. They are purple, I have past pairs that are blue and black respectively.
Dogs or cats?
While I do not hate cats on sight, I am without doubt a dog person.
What’s your favorite animal?
Overall my favorite animal is an arctic wolf.
What’s your favorite television show?
Right now it is Relic Hunter starring Tia Carrere.
What’s your favorite movie?
My all time favorite movie remains Braveheart.
Do you believe in soul mates?
Yes, I do. They just aren't always what you expect. Sometimes it is your best friend. And sometimes your lover. I believe that you can have multiple soulmates throughout life. As you change and grow your needs from a partner change and grow.
Have you ever dyed your hair?
Yes. A lot. every color other than puce has been on this head of mine. though for the last 7 years I haven't dyed it and have barely used a hairdryer. Fun fact I also use bar soap to wash my hair because of our hard water.

Mini Interview with the Blogger

Paperback or hardcover?

Paperbacks are more comfortable to read, overall. There is something to be said for the feel and weight of a hardback in hand. Ultimately though, the paperback has to win this one.

Fantasy or sci-fi?

Both. I love reading fantasy books when I want some whimsy in my life. I love reading Sci-fi thrillers when I'm in the mood to be chilled by things that are actually feasible. No monster is ever scarier than one that can exist in real life.

YA contemporary or new adult?

YA definitely. Every time I pick up a New Adult book I end up putting it down within the first 20 pages. I don't torture myself like that. I just move on. YA books are so rich in detail and complexity, and serve as a strong reminder that everyone is different and their journey through life will not be the same as yours.

Candles or fairy lights?

It depends on what I want them for. if the fairy lights are christmasy I like them. But candles are softer and set a very different mood.

Coffee or tea?

I used to be a caffeine addict, but these days I drink herbal teas. My favorite one is peppermint tea by Stash.

Reading in the sun or cozy in bed?

I prefer to keep my reading to cozy surfaces indoors where I can control the temperature. I happen to be very sun sensitive, so indoors is my happy place.

Dusky pink or mustard yellow?

Well, my favorite color is deep forest green. If I had to choose between these two I guess I would take the pink. Mustard yellow would just make me look jaundiced.

Bean bag or hammock?

It depends on whether or not I feel healthy. I think the hammock is more my speed these days though.

Seaside towns or neon cities?

Definitely seaside towns. The air is cleaner. and you have excellent access to a wonder of nature. there is nothing quite so relaxing as just watching the waves come in.

Milkshake or smoothie?

Smoothie. But it has to be portioned properly to have enough protein to substitute a meal.

Misty forest mornings or warm pool-side evenings?

Definitely Both. the misty morning because it is mysterious, and the pool side evening because it feels lazy and comfortable.

Violin or acoustic guitar?

The guitar. I actually used to be able to play some.

Fairground or fireworks show?

Fireworks. You can get some seriously cool collages going if you have enough firework photos.

Stripes or florals?

Neither. I prefer single color clothing. Accented with maybe some jewelry on occasion.

Ladybugs or butterflies?

Neither. I can't stand any kind of insect.

Maple syrup or honey?

Both for different purposes. Honey goes in my tea. Syrup on my pancakes.

What about you?
